Irate Gamer Admits Hes Not Funny

  • Say anything you want about the show itself, but you can't deny that The Opening Song to The Irate Gamer is just awesome! It was royalty-free stock music from the defunct Digital Juice company.
  • In his Top 5 NES Picks video, when he says that he uses a Game Genie for Kid Icarus, he says, "I'm sure there's gonna be some 'elite' gamers out there complaining about how I'm using a Game Genie for this game. Well, you know what? Fuck 'em! Because even with a Game Genie, this game still proves to be very challenging."
  • Him beating Silver Surfer when AVGN couldn't even beat one whole stage. Granted, he needed to use the unlimited lives cheat, but he deserves praise for beating something not even James Rolfe could beat, and without an invincibility cheat to boot.
  • On his IRate The '80s video series, he also came up with the "Breakfast is Ruined!" line (over how Lucky Charms changed shapes over time) that spawned its own hurricane of memes soon after.
  • His comedy bit where he answers the door to different people (most of which is himself in different costumes) in his Monster Party review. This led to the Bores and Doors meme where he faces off with pop culture guests such as SpongeBob SquarePants and The Terminator .
  • Using a powersaw to cut the terrible Home Improvement SNES game in half.
  • An inspired Bores was also able to expand his original Irate Gamer show to other sub-series such as History of Video Games, Irate Gamer NEO, IRate the Eighties and Haunted Investigators (inspired by Ghost Hunters) from 2007 to 2009. Some might say it was to an excessive degree.
  • Back in 2011, at E3, Nintendo released a soundless Wii-U tech demo for The Legend of Zelda note that would eventually evolve into the Wii's The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011) or the Switch's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017). Chris flexed his creative chops on the demo by painstakingly giving it music and sound effects. This led to the video going viral at about 1.8 million views at the time of this writing. Most notably, even hardcore Irate Gamer critics admitted in the comments and their blogs that it showed Bores' strengths when it came to editing.
  • In 2013, Chris Bores released "A Skylanders 'Swap Force' Live Action Stop Motion Animated Adventure - Action Figures", which is a Christmas video that involved painstaking Stop Motion effects using Skylanders figures. The video description claims it took Bores 60 hours to film and edit everything.
  • He also quietly made a new channel called Puppet Steve back on January 16, 2016 that rode the toy review and unboxing trend on YouTube. It featured a puppet version of Steve from Minecraft (as played by Bores himself) doing the reviews (along with various other characters such as Zombie Steve).
    • Perhaps intentionally, he made sure it had barely anything to do with the Irate Gamer show. He never advertised Puppet Steve on his main Irate Gamer channel probably to prevent his haters from catching wind of it and leaving hate comments on his newer videos.
    • Puppet Steve eventually overtook his original Irate Gamer channel in terms of subscriptions, making it the most popular channel under his belt.
  • On January 2020, Chris Bores' Puppet Steve Toy Show released a video about "Street Fighter II Champion Edition Tabletop Arcade & Boardwalk Arcade Cabinet Unboxing". From there, hell froze over because both The Irate Gamer and The Angry Video Game Nerd ended up in that video together for the first time... voicing Ryu and Ken respectively.
  • Him getting past all twenty-two floors of stairs in the NES Ghostbusters game without a turbo button or other cheats. Even if his main reason to not use cheats was to spite potential claims of his video ripping off AVGN's, it's still a worthy achievement nonetheless.
  • His Dick Tracy review on July 2020 features an unexpected guest star... that being The Angry Video Game Nerd himself, meaning that the two shows have officially done a video game review crossover together.
    • Ever since his crossover with the Nerd where they seemingly buried the hatchet, the Irate Gamer has ended up with a much healthier channel ratings-wise. Even though he only gets a fraction of his views back in his heyday, the ratio of likes to dislikes of his latest reviews have significantly trended to the positive compared to the more mixed reactions of his past reviews (some of which still have the comments section disabled). He has become more of a positive figure in many a former hater's eyes.
