How to Draw a Site Plan Youtube

Remember doing dot-to-dots as a child? It turns out that the secret to drawing the perfect plan of an archaeological feature is surprisingly familiar…

So you've revealed your commencement context or characteristic, but before you can dive straight in an excavate it you lot demand to create an accurate drawn record of its shape and position within your trench. We enlisted our Venturers to demonstrate how to do it in eight easy steps.

• 2 measuring Tapes
• Compass
• Gridded drawing board

• Plumb-bob (a weighted length of cord)

Step 1. Clean-upward your trench

Step two. Prepare up your baseline

Draw the base of operations line along the bottom of your permatrace (remember that 1 square = 20cm, and so if your baseline is 4m long it should cover 20 squares), and you're set to begin!

This is where your skills at filling out dot-to-dots come into play! Using the 2d tape measure and the plumb-bob you lot tin can start to plot the shape of your context.
